Raavi font typing test
Practise the Punjabi part of the Punjab government typing test in Raavi font. You type on your normal English keyboard and the test turns each key into the Gurmukhi INSCRIPT layout, the same one Raavi uses in the exam hall.

What is a Raavi font typing test?
Raavi is the Unicode Gurmukhi font that comes with Windows. When a Punjab recruitment notice says the Punjabi typing test is in "Raavi font", it means you type Unicode Punjabi with the Windows Punjabi keyboard, which uses the INSCRIPT layout. Older legacy fonts such as Asees or AnmolLipi use different key positions, so practising on them will not help you in a Raavi test. Read Raavi vs Asees for the difference.
How to use this test
- Pick Punjabi typing test (Raavi) for a 10-minute test, or the Strict version to practise without Backspace.
- Do the keyboard check on the instructions screen. If pressing k shows ਕ, you are ready.
- Read a few words ahead and keep a steady rhythm. The timer will not stop, and the test submits by itself at zero.
- Study the word-by-word check on your result. Most lost marks come from a handful of repeated errors such as a missing addak or a wrong sihari.
