Punjab GK in Punjab government exams
Most exams conducted by the Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab Police and other state recruitment bodies include a section on Punjab: its history, geography, culture, polity and economy. These questions are usually factual and can be scored quickly if you have revised them, which makes Punjab GK one of the best sections to prepare.
Topics covered in this mock test
- History: the Sikh Gurus, Banda Singh Bahadur, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the Anglo-Sikh wars, the freedom struggle in Punjab and the formation of the present state in 1966.
- Geography: rivers, dams, wetlands, borders and the physical divisions of Punjab.
- Culture: festivals, folk dances, crafts, literature and state symbols.
- Polity and economy: the Vidhan Sabha, seats in Parliament, the official language, agriculture and major institutions.
New questions are added regularly. Facts such as the number of districts or seats can change, so always confirm with current sources before your exam.
How to use mock tests well
- Take the test in one sitting with the timer running, as you would in the exam hall.
- Answer the questions you are sure of first, mark the doubtful ones for review and come back to them at the end.
- With negative marking on, guess only when you can rule out at least two options.
- Read every explanation after the test, including for questions you got right by guessing.
